Hope is like a dream with plan and purpose. Hope is what keeps you going when all else seems impossible. Many people have never lost the hope that they could get a better job, be able to take a trip, or make a new friend. They believe a better tomorrow is a possibility if they just try hard enough.

Hope is not always positive, however. For example, when you want to escape from reality, when you feel like giving up on life, hope can be your worst enemy. But hope without action is pointless.

Doing something can give you hope in the future. Doing something gets your mind off of negative thoughts and gives you an outlet for your energy that might otherwise become useless frustration or anger. Hope can be powerful in that way, but it must be used wisely in order for it to work in your favor.
